The quaint downtown is a perfect complement to the area’s abundance of parks and green spaces

Welcome to Greer

A peaceful community with a fun downtown and a hip vibe
Greer has seen great development throughout its history. What began as bountiful hunting grounds for members of the Cherokee tribe was later developed by the Scottsman James Manning Greer, for whom the town gets its name. Today, Greer is a bustling city as it is home to North America’s largest BMW manufacturer. It is heralded as being a peaceful nook of South Carolina, and its residents love its hip culture among a historical backdrop. While it has a rural feel, bucolic views, and outdoor opportunities, it maintains an ever-evolving, colorful downtown and is conveniently located near the airport.
Greer continues to attract families and young professionals with its pleasant atmosphere, opportunity for career growth, and excellent school system. The quaint downtown is a perfect complement to the area’s abundance of parks and green spaces. Neighborhoods in Greer are welcoming and provide a diverse array of home styles and sizes to fit their residents' varied needs. The architecture pays tribute to the gorgeous designs of South Carolina’s Colonial Revival and Bungalow tradition.
